Have you noticed that amid the long winding month that tops the calendar at the start of each year there is an unusually high amount of adverts for winter sun holidays? I can recite the Thompson holiday advert word for word now! To be honest, Rich and I have been looking at booking a cheeky get-away for some winter sun. I haven’t had a beach holiday in nearly 10 years and I am craving that feeling of the sun on my skin. Bye bye winter! Hello sun! This did get me thinking about the need for holiday clothes. I used to go raving in Ibiza in my 20’s and I would plan my outfits for pretty much the whole year. I’m not kidding! Each outfit was meticulously created with accessories, footwear, head scarves. I’m the girl that wore a blue leather mini skirt to a club (and sweated enough to tell the tale) but it looked good so outwardly I never complained. The thing is, those Ibiza holidays weren’t for relaxing, they were for living at 100 miles a minute with 3 outfit changes a day. This holiday with Rich is for pure relaxation and I’m not even going to plan my outfits. Why? Because I don’t want to swap one uniform for another: I simply want to put on a bikini and flop on a lounger. I marvel at those women who wear countless bangles on the beach, necklaces and scarves. ‘Aren’t they getting weird tan lines?’ is always my first though.
